The Climate Dynamics group at the University of Southern California invites applications for a post-doctoral fellowship in mathematical paleoclimatology. Our work focuses on how paleoclimate observations may constrain theories and models of climate dynamics, and we have several ongoing projects along those lines.
We seek a candidate with expertise in any of the following: paleoclimatology, climate dynamics, hydrology, high-dimensional statistics, estimation theory, data science. (S)he will be expected to analyze paleoclimate observations and climate simulations, programming in Python, R or Matlab and making use of USC's computing resources. Experience working with climate data a must. The position is for 2 years with competitive compensation.
