Samantha Oestreicher describes DACA-13
Richard McGehee, Dave Camp and Samantha Oestreicher recently attended the Davos Atmosphere and Cryosphere Assembly DACA-13 in Davos, Switzerland. (www.daca-13.org/index_EN) The conference, July 8-12, 2013, was located in a beautiful valley which could only be seen after a long scenic train ride through the Swiss mountains. The conference featured many talks on very specific, state-of-the-art climate science inquiry. The detail of the current understanding of paleodata is impressive! David Camp presented his research on the application of EMD to delta18O data which was well received. Samantha Oestreicher presented work from an MCRN collaboration between Dick McGehee, Dave Camp, Pam Martin, and Matthew Rodrigues on how applying current data analysis techniques to models of the mid-Pliestocene transition may help future modeling efforts. Great conversations and new contacts were made between MCRN members and European members of the paleoclimate community.
