Ken Golden Receives Awards

Ken Golden (Leader, MCRN Node U of Utah) received two awards at the May 4 commencement ceremony at the University of Utah: the 2012 Distinguished Scholarly and Creative Research Award and the 2012 Myriad Award for Research Excellence in the University of Utah College of Science.

The 2012 Distinguished Scholarly and Creative Research Award is the highest research award at the University of Utah.  Professor Golden is the first mathematics professor to receive this award since 1992; see the associated press release here. The 2012 Myriad Award for Research Excellence in the University of Utah College of Science was presented by the CEO and co-founder of Myriad Genetics (MYGN), and is for excellence in fostering undergraduate research and promoting experiential learning during the academic year.
